The Simplisafe doorbell being designed for AC is a real challenge, I just can't find anything that will feed 24vac off DC. Since you obviously have AC there, I'd look into an Ohmkat wall adapter, which with a bit more effort you could hardwire. Yeah that's my plan b, I have that wall adapter in case it starts dying. I tested the base plate and still received 16.2V which Simplisafe said was their median voltage and should be acceptable. We ended up with tech#2 and they shipped us a new video doorbell thinking that it could be a faulty unit.
