The Lawrence Parks and Recreation department keeps South Park in wonderful condition. At 8:00 P.M. during the summer months the Lawrence City Band performs concerts in the William Kelly gazebo. The park (and the band) trace history to the days before the Quantrill raid on Lawrence.
